Gulu, Uganda
Born from the community, for the community.
Our Story
A Promise Born from Empathy
In 2016, Muusa and the VacNet team witnessed first-hand how period poverty was silently forcing girls out of classrooms and women out of public life in northern Uganda. The solution seemed obvious, yet accessible, affordable pads didn't exist in sufficient quantities in the region.
So we built the supply chain ourselves. Lucky Girl Pads was founded to manufacture affordable, eco-friendly, high-disposable sanitary pads locally in Gulu, distribute them through schools, health centres, and pair every pad with SRHR education because knowledge and access together create lasting change.
- Founded in 2016 as part of the VacNet family
- Locally manufactured in Gulu, northern Uganda
- Distributed across 24 schools in 6 districts
- 62,500+ girls and women reached to date
